Welcome to our Carbon Capture Technology page.

Discover TurnCO2‘s MOF-integrated carbon capture process, designed for the brewing industry. Using physisorption, our scalable and hydrophobic MOF efficiently and selectively captures CO2. The beverage-grade CO2 is then released for use in brewery operations. Follow our progress through the Technology Readiness Levels (TRL) framework, where we currently stand at TRL 5, demonstrating our prototype in a simulated pilot brewhouse.

Technology Readiness Levels (TRL)

TRL 1

Basic Principles observed by the Shimizu group at the University of Calgary and reported in Science.

TRL 2

Concept of MOF-integrated carbon capture in breweries initiated by TurnCO2. Analytical studies demonstrate CO2 preference over water and ethanol under a range of conditions.

TRL 3

TurnCO2 demonstrates effective CO2 capture and regeneration, producing 95% CO2 from a simulated fermentation stream in the laboratory.

TRL 4

Sensor array, pelletized MOF, and compressor successfully integrated in TurnCO2‘s lab space at the University of Calgary.

TRL 5

TurnCO2‘s technological components are currently being tested on a 10-gallon brewhouse.
